What's in your toothpaste?

Are you confident enough to smile? Did you know that oral health affects more than just your mouth? Poor oral health is linked to conditions such as oral cancer, premature birth in pregnant women, heart disease, clogged arteries, stroke and heart attack? Research has proven that the best defense against plaque and harmful oral bacteria is to brush your teeth at least twice a day. Flossing is essential too to remove the trapped food particles between your teeth.

What type of toothpaste are you currently using? Have you put much thought into what ingredients are in your toothpaste? We have several flavors and types of tooth polish including a whitening tooth polish. Our tooth polishes tackle the mouth's toughest issues: eliminating plaque, controls tartar buildup, prevents cavities, prevents gingivitis and whitens teeth without peroxide. Why no peroxide? For one thing because peroxide doesn't remove stains, it simply masks them. Also, peroxide is very harsh on your teeth and over time, it wears away tooth enamel, compromising the strength of your teeth and leaving them sensitive.

If we don't use peroxide, how does our tooth polish whiten? Instead of bleaching stains like peroxide, we use a different approach. Papaya is used to naturally remove stains to reveal a brighter, cleaner smile. Papain is a naturally occurring enzyme found in the rinds of mountain papaya. The enzyme can be harvested without harming the fruit. This enzyme does not compromise your teeth's protective enamel and it doesn't lead to tooth and gum sensitivity.

In addition to Papain, we use Melaleuca (tea tree) oil, myrrh (resin from certain African and Middle Eastern trees; long recognized for its germ-fighting abilities) and zylitol (found in many fruits & veggies; it is a sweetener that cannot be fermented by bacteria in the mouth, so it naturally sweetens without contributing to tooth decay the way sugar does).

Our tooth polish will freshen your mouth, strengthen your teeth and prevent gum and mouth disease naturally for a lifetime of confident, sparkling smiles.

Go ahead, give it a try. I promise you will feel like you just walked out of the dentist each day. Don't forget to floss and use mouthwash. Of course, we carry those as well. Your dentist will be happy you made the switch.
