Raising Awareness for TTTS

I felt compelled to do some sort of fundraiser for a charity for November and December. I pondered if I should donate to our local food pantry, toys for tots, but then it hit me. December 7th is World TTTS Awareness Day. I could not think of a better organization to raise money for. TTTS stands for Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome. In 2007, I was pregnant with identical twin boys. To make a long story short, they were born at 22 1/2 weeks. I always include that 1/2 week because at that point the youngest baby to be born that survived was 23 weeks. Our boys, Jesse & Waylon passed away a few hours after they were born. They died from TTTS. TTTS is a syndrome which affects the blood vessels. In my case, Waylon, was my recipient and he had too much blood. Jesse, was my donor and he had very little blood. The doctors believe that Waylon went into heart failure due to too much blood and that is what caused me to go in to labor. If TTTS detected in the first 20 weeks of pregnancy is left untreated, there is an 70-100% chance that the twins will not survive. Which is why it is so crucial to spread the word and make people aware of this syndrome.

I have been using Melaleuca products for almost a year now. I love them!! I love that I am getting nasty chemicals out of my home, reducing the amount of plastic I recycle and saving money each month. They have everything from bath & body products, cleaning products, makeup, vitamins & supplements, weight loss & exercise nutrition, snacks, dental care, etc. So, for the month of November and December, I will donate $5 to the TTTS Foundation for each person that enrolls with Melaleuca through me. If you are interested, we can get together (via in person, internet, phone) and I can do an overview of the business and products with you.

If you would like to learn more about TTTS, please check out the TTTS Foundation website. Mary, the owner, is such a great person. She helped me after the twins were born and helps hundreds each month being affected by this. She provides immediate and lifesaving educational, emotional and financial support to families, medical professionals and other caregivers before, during and after a diagnosis of twin to twin transfusion syndrome.

What's in your toothpaste?

Are you confident enough to smile? Did you know that oral health affects more than just your mouth? Poor oral health is linked to conditions such as oral cancer, premature birth in pregnant women, heart disease, clogged arteries, stroke and heart attack? Research has proven that the best defense against plaque and harmful oral bacteria is to brush your teeth at least twice a day. Flossing is essential too to remove the trapped food particles between your teeth.

What type of toothpaste are you currently using? Have you put much thought into what ingredients are in your toothpaste? We have several flavors and types of tooth polish including a whitening tooth polish. Our tooth polishes tackle the mouth's toughest issues: eliminating plaque, controls tartar buildup, prevents cavities, prevents gingivitis and whitens teeth without peroxide. Why no peroxide? For one thing because peroxide doesn't remove stains, it simply masks them. Also, peroxide is very harsh on your teeth and over time, it wears away tooth enamel, compromising the strength of your teeth and leaving them sensitive.

If we don't use peroxide, how does our tooth polish whiten? Instead of bleaching stains like peroxide, we use a different approach. Papaya is used to naturally remove stains to reveal a brighter, cleaner smile. Papain is a naturally occurring enzyme found in the rinds of mountain papaya. The enzyme can be harvested without harming the fruit. This enzyme does not compromise your teeth's protective enamel and it doesn't lead to tooth and gum sensitivity.

In addition to Papain, we use Melaleuca (tea tree) oil, myrrh (resin from certain African and Middle Eastern trees; long recognized for its germ-fighting abilities) and zylitol (found in many fruits & veggies; it is a sweetener that cannot be fermented by bacteria in the mouth, so it naturally sweetens without contributing to tooth decay the way sugar does).

Our tooth polish will freshen your mouth, strengthen your teeth and prevent gum and mouth disease naturally for a lifetime of confident, sparkling smiles.

Go ahead, give it a try. I promise you will feel like you just walked out of the dentist each day. Don't forget to floss and use mouthwash. Of course, we carry those as well. Your dentist will be happy you made the switch.

Do You Take An Aspirin A Day?

Do you take an aspirin a day and worry about the long term side effects? I have an alternative all natural solution. Dr. John Folts, Univ. of Wisconsin, developed the therapy of an aspirin a day and vitamin E for reducing the threat of heart disease. As this therapy has shown some negative side effects (gastrointestinal problems, glaucoma and the negation of aspirins benefit when adrenaline is introduced into the system), Dr. Folts looked into the positive affects of Grape Seed Extract with heart disease. Our company saw the benefit of grape seed extract and spent 17 years and millions of dollars testing and developing dozens of formulas, extracts and ingredients. The result is the most effective grape seed and grape skin extract in history and patented so you can only find it here. It has the power of 10,000 grapes in each bottle! Along with grape seed/skin extract, our product contains resveratrol, quercetin, green tea extract and bromelain.

What makes purple grapes so special? They are filled with a substance called phenolic compounds. These have an effect on the interior blood vessels unlike anything else. They also induce the release of nitric oxide within the blood. Nitric Oxide inhibits blood platelet activity, minimizing the buildup of arterial plaque and the consequent arterial blockage. An added benefit is that grapes have a positive effect on maintaining healthy blood pressure by encouraging endothelial relaxation. It lowers LDL cholesterol oxidation (2 times more effective than vitamin E), is 50% more effective than aspirin in reducing blood platelet activity (sticky platelets). It also has 8x's the antioxidant power of the average "super" juices tested.

So, what would you rather take??

Can You Tell That Your Vitamin Works?

I'm sure most of us take a multi-vitamin daily. If you are like me, I have never really noticed a difference. I even did research a few years back and found a multi-vitamin that was reasonably priced and also had more of the ingredients that we should be getting (Alive Vitamins). But, I still didn't notice a difference.
Everyone in my group suggested trying our vitamins ASAP. Well, I waited until the 3rd month to start. I wish that would have been on my first months order...they are wonderful! I noticed within 5 or 6 days that I was feeling more energetic. I also just started a WOW (Women Out Walking) group so I am trying to get as many steps in as I can. My first week (with no vitamins) I averaged 9,000-11,000 steps a day. My second week (with vitamins), I haven't been below 12,000 steps yet. Yesterday I walked 17,000 steps! The difference is that I feel like I can get up and move anytime. I haven't had as much afternoon sleepies as I normally do. Also, I don't feel hyper and like I can't sit still, just energetic.
So, why are our vitamins different? Well, I can't go into too much detail on the internet but I will say that our vitamins have a patent pending process. This process makes it easier for our bodies to absorb the nutrients found in vitamins. Better absorption means you can actually feel your vitamin working not to mention that you are getting more for your money.
Our vitamins are better and cost about the same as the Alive Vitamins I was taking before. My company is so sure that you will feel a difference too that if you take our vitamins for 90 days and you don't feel a difference, they will refund your money-no questions. Can your current vitamin offer that? Message me if you would like to hear more about our line of vitamins and supplements-all containing our patent pending process.

Chemicals in Your Cleaning Products

The average household contains about 62 toxic chemicals, say environmental experts. We’re exposed to them routinely. Ingredients in common household products have been linked to asthma, cancer, reproductive disorders, hormone disruption and neurotoxicity. Chemicals found in laundry detergent and other fabric cleaners can damage your clothes and lessen their life as well.

Did you know that a study published in 2010 found that women who used more household cleaning products, including air fresheners and mold removers, had a 2x higher risk of breast cancer?

Manufacturers argue that in small amounts these toxic ingredients aren’t likely to be a problem, but when we’re exposed to them routinely, and in combinations that haven’t been studied, it’s impossible to accurately gauge the risks. While a few products cause immediate reactions from acute exposure (headaches from fumes, skin burns from accidental contact), different problems arise with repeated contact.

No one can avoid exposure to toxic chemicals altogether, but it is possible to reduce them significantly. My wellness company offers many safe alternatives to the cleaners found in your local grocery store. Most often, these cleaners are even less expensive than their chemical laden grocery store counterparts.

Our cleaners and products do not contain bleach, ammonia, formaldehyde, unnecessary fillers, phosphates and no safety caps! Even better, they come concentrated to save you money. All you need to do is add water. In fact, it would take 3 bottles of Tilex to equal 1 bottle of our bathroom cleaner which costs under $6.

Did I also mention that all of our products have a 100% satisfaction guarantee?
